We Interrupt this Winter for a Brief Period of Fall

Yesterday was a wonderful day for February. It was up to 53 degrees at lunch. The commute home was like riding in fall instead of winter. It was refreshing to ride without wearing all of the winter accessories (scarf, electric gloves, half mask). It won't last long as two fronts are moving through today/tonight and temperatures are headed back down, but I enjoyed it while it lasted :)

The Legend of the Christmas Moose

The other day, someone stopped me and commented on the stuffed moose in a co-workers cubicle. The co-worker asked what a moose had to do with Christmas. I replied, "Oh, that is the Christmas Moose." I quickly realized my co-worker had never heard the legend of the Christmas Moose. As the days have progressed, it has become obivious to me that a lot of people are unfamiliar with one of the most vital parts of the story of Santa and the reindeer. So, here is the legend of the Christmas Moose. Several years ago, Santa had a run of misfortune. He experienced a bad landing almost turning over the sleigh and then someone took several shots at the reindeer as they were preparing to land at another house. Once Santa and his team of reindeer returned to the North Pole, a townhall meeting was held to evaluate options and ensure the safety of Santa and the reindeer. Feeling Distant From God

And old couple was riding down a road in their 1970 Chevy Pickup - the wife sitting on the bench seat against the passenger door quietly looking out the window. They met another pickup on the road driven by a younger man, and a young woman was riding in the middle of the truck saddled up next to the young man.   The old man's wife looked across the cab at the old fella and remarked "Remember when we used to ride like that?"   The old fella looked down at the bench seat and the distance between his wife and himself and replied "I haven't moved."   That's how it is with our relationship with God when we feel distant from Him.  We shout out "God! Where are you?
