So you are off on vacation on the gulf of mexico, you take a series of pictures by standing in one place and snapping pictures as you move horizontally, now you want to put them together to make a panoramic image. How to do it?
Hugin is a free download from Sourceforge.net that will stich the images together based on common images in each picture.
I strongly recommend using the assistant tab as it makes melook smarter than I am :)

likewise recommended. I've used it several times, including this image of Walt Disney World's Village Lake which I think came out reasonably well
Hmmm...thanks, I think I'll check it out.
Dear Sir:
You say this software will stitch pictures togeher based on common images. Why would I stop to take a puicture of a common subject?
There are many things like this that I don't understand.

Allen thanks for this lesson. I couldn't figure out why my pictures weren't turning out. I've down loaded it and will give it a try.
I first tested this while we were at the Biltmore this past winter, then with the pics from Thunder Road, all with success (as long as I use the wizrd) :)
